Stalker: Railroad Sequence
The dreamlike and unnerving journey into the “zone” may be one of the most amazingly done moments in the cinema history. 2001: Stargate Sequence
A reverse-engineering recreation of pixelating to simulate line rasterization with Bresenham’s algorithm, which is frequently used in modern computer graphics. The stargate sequence from 2001: A Space Odyssey (1968) was not apply CGI but slit-scan photography.
Ghost in the Shell: Shelling
There is no way that Hollywood remake can get as close as the original anime made back in 1995. The clip is taken from the intro scene of shelling, the formation of major Major Mira Killian. And the choice of triangle is not only getting from its title but also the representative of “Id”, “Ego” and “Superego.”
